An Atlanta bound Delta airline has made an emergency landing after it went up in flames in mid air. At least 5 people have sustained minor injuries.
Delta reports that the Airbus A330-200 had developed an issue with one of its engines. The flight landed safely but five passengers on board suffered minor injuries during the evacuation while the plane was on the runway. The passengers had evacuated the plane using the escape slides due to the severity of the incident.
The Delta Airbus A330-200 has 234 seats and two Pratt & Whitney PW4000 turbofan engines. The aircraft’s engine manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney, said in a statement that it’s working with “authorities to assess the situation.”
