It has been gathered through reliable sources, if those that made it on this residency this year. Indeed, three female Nigerian writers and/or authors have arrived Iseyin, Oyo State, for the November/December 2017 Ebedi Writers Residency Session. The authors are the trio of Gertrude Uzor, Murjanatu Sadiq Al Kassim, and Kemi Falodun.
Whilst Sadiq Al Kassim, hails from Kano State, and read Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, in Niger State, north-central Nigeria, he has also put in some years as a professional presenter at the radio station in Kano, the Dala FM, Kano. He later however worked as a reporter at Daily Trust newspaper office located in Kano.
Also, a published author and writer (The Morgue, 2017), Sadiq Al Kassim really hopes to use her time very well in Ebedi just to put to completion her very recent and new collection of short stories. Again she will also engage in the mentoring of high school students in Iseyin and its surrounding in the areas of the art of Hausa songs and its poetry.
