Oprah Winfrey has been repeatedly attacked by US President Donald Trump ever since she made her powerful Golden Globes speech which got folks beckoning on her to run for president. Oprah however is counting her strides and she certainly mentoring a lot of people on it.
About a month ago, Donald Trump dubbed Oprah Winfrey as “very insecure” in a tweet and just this weekend, he promised to make a possible presidential run “painful” for Winfrey. During a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Trump again said
“I would love to beat Oprah. I know her weakness.”
In an interview with CNN’s Van Jones, Oprah was question on her stance towards the speeches coming from the Donald Trump. In response to the question, Oprah admitted:
“I wouldn’t. I would only speak if I felt that I could be heard.”
Oprah’s method of handling Trump’s tantrum is super impressive notwithstanding the several backlash she’s received from him. Trump might be the one who’s insecure here ‘cos Oprah hasn’t yet declared her intention to run. She dismissed folks calling on her to act ‘cos she hasn’t heard from God on the issue of running for the US President come 2020.
“If God actually wanted me to run, wouldn’t God kind of tell me? And I haven’t heard that.”
Here’s the candid message she dropped <for Trump> and whoever does run:
“I will say to whoever is going to run for office, do not give your energy to the other side. Do not spend all your time talking about your opponents. Do not give your energy to that which you really don’t believe in. Do not spend an ounce of your time on that.”
