Russia has reportedly been banned from the 2018 Winter Olympics scheduled to take place in South Korea after they have been accused of systemic manipulation of the Olympic anti-doping rules.

Russia’s Olympic Committee did not only  receive the Olympic ban but also asked to compulsorily pay $15m to reimburse the International Olympic Committee’s costs of investigating the doping scandal.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Vitaly Mutko, who is the former Minister of Sport and chairman of the organizing committee for soccer’s 2018 World Cup in Russia has been barred from attending any future Olympic Games.
