Michael was grew up in the town of Killarney, Co. Kerry, in the south-west of Ireland, where his nuclear family had relocated to ah his two years of age. Michael’s parents were into restaurant business even as his father is a chef.
Michael is known to be based in London, England, but became known in the U.S. after his role and function in the Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds’ of year 2009. In 2011, Michael debuted as the Marvel antihero Magneto in the prequel X-Men:First Class (2011); he could go on and on to share the function with Ian McKellen in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
Also in 2011, his performance as a sex addict in Shame (2011) received critical acclaim. Michael subsequently won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated then for Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards. In 2013, his role as slave owner Edwin Epps in slavery epic 12 Years a Slave was similarly praised, and that earned him his first Oscar nomination, for Best Supporting Actor.
He has remained resolute in the field of acting and very much talented.
